We had the most fantastic time. Delhi B&B was a perfect retreat from overwhelming city experiences! The experience of being at Delhi BnB was a great introduction to India for me. The room was comfortable, hosts friendly and it was lovely to be able to sit in different areas – I enjoyed the deck on the top floor and the courtyard. Having plants around was quite a comforting familiarity to me as I love gardening and could identify some of the plants – this added to the homely feel.

It was also great to be able to share breakfast with the family and to meet other travellers also and hear their stories. India has made me think a great deal about the importance and involvement of family for me personally and it was great to see this in a home environment and to share some thoughts about this over the dining table.

The food was fabulous! Good range of breakfast choices. It was useful to have Lubna explain how the food should be served, eaten etc. … Joanne, Australia. November 2009.

I read a description in Frommer's that recommended Delhi Bed and Breakfast as a "gentle introduction to India" for those travellers that don't mind staying away from center; It was precisely that for us. We were very appreciative of all information on the website. We were so happy to see the arranged taxi at the airport after such a long and tiring flight. The friendly greeting after mid-night and very clean and nice rooms were wonderful. In the morning we were received as honoured guests for tea before breakfast and special adjustments were made for dietary restrictions for breakfast. The safe walk to nearby shopping area (got simcard for cell phone, fixed broken eye-glass, and got new battery for watch) is an advantage for the location. It is now our preferred Delhi hub for subsequent stops in Delhi for our continuing travels in India. ... Al Garcia, USA. Aug 2008.

We found everyone to be very welcoming & helpful, especially regarding things to do in the city and onwards travel. Te room as tastefully furnished and the food was excellent. It's just a shame we didn't have time to have a cooking lesson with Lubna! Airport pickup was great (although car didn't have seat belts). Beds very comfy! Rooms very clean. Very comfortable room, lovely home. A quick of glimpse of Delhi for me. ... Amy, USA. July 2008.

We really and truly enjoyed our stay, an I'm only sorry we're not staying on our way back through Delhi - but we had to diversify our risk, so to speak. We tend to stay only at smaller establishments, but there was something particularly good here about it simultaneously feeling intimate/inviting and yet also as though the household carried on its own so that we didn't feel too much of an influence or imposition. Finding the right place to stay can make such an influence on one's experience, and I went from worrying that we shouldn't be spending any time in Delhi, to pleased as anything about how it went. Getting good food in Delhi can be quite a challenge, so being able to have a delicious foo and some company to share was well appreciated. I couldn't figure out how to make the TV work, to catch some of the cricket match, but we're not here to watch television, so that's hardly disappointment ... Kirstin & Kent, USA. July 2008.

A wonderful time - much better than a generic hotel. We loved the conversations and fellowship. We look forward to returning & staying here! Thank you for making the time to interact with us. Delightful in all respects. We can't think of anywhere in the world where we have got/could get a better experience of another country - and of course, we had some experience now of India, so can make comparisons. Living 'en famille' is taking a risk, so we might tend to go for something impersonal , like a hotel. But we can thoroughly recommend 'en famille' when it's your 'famille' - everyone has been so kind and helpful. We specially thank Padmaji for letting us in rather late at night (thanks to the wedding revels)! The food was excellent - but we're not so surprised to find that in India in general - WOW! ... Kenneth Smith, UK. June 2008.

Clean water & a good shower & a comfortable bed - let alone a/c - all contributed to an A++ stay. Thank you. Outstanding feature - interested & informative & sensitive involvement of the family - I felt valued. ... Adrian Foot, UK. June 2008.

Comfortable, safe and welcome. The breakfast was nourishing, substantial and balanced. We loved the creamy, scrambled eggs, the variety of spiced potato dishes and the fresh papaya. Also the air conditioner was good, quiet and easily adjusted for comfort. ... Susan Wills, Australia. June 2008.

I arranged for surgery at the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi over the Internet, not knowing the doctors, hospitals, customs, areas or language … India and its challenges were unknown to me. After a two nights stay at the hospital and rather extensive surgery, I was discharged and taken directly to the Delhi Bed and Breakfast - Homestay … where I was cared for by the Pervez family.

My convalescence was more demanding and involved than I realised, but my hosts quickly understood that and surpassed my expectations, providing loving convalescent care.

My bland and tasteless special diet was transformed by Lubna into appealing, tasty dishes which added to my speedy recovery. The meals were served in room, till I was able to join diners at the table.

I was truly pampered and treated as a special honoured guest.

I had read about the pitfalls, difficulties and possible dangers of a visit to India (particularly for a single woman) but felt absolutely safe and secure from the time I arrived at the airport till my departure.

I will be happy to supply further information and I highly endorse a stay with the Pervez family at the Delhi Bed and Breakfast, surgery or not.
